Support Melissa’s Recovery After a Serious Motorcycle Accident
On September 14th, Melissa was in a life-altering motorcycle accident while riding home over Aspen Ridge. As she navigated her bike she clipped a rock—most likely hidden in the shadows—sending her flying off the motorcycle. She hit the ground hard, sustaining multiple severe injuries.
Melissa lay on the ground, unable to move due to the intense pain in her back, waiting for over an hour before Flight for Life could airlift her to Colorado Springs ICU. After a thorough examination, doctors confirmed she had suffered:
10 broken ribs (some near the spine), fractured in multiple places
A broken collarbone
A ruptured spleen
Hemothorax, requiring chest tubes draining fluid from her lungs
3 rib sternal separations
Melissa is currently immobile and in intense pain. She is expected to remain in the hospital for at least two weeks under close observation.
As many of you know, Melissa works as a physical therapist for the elderly—a job that demands physical strength and mobility to assist her patients. Due to the severity of her injuries, particularly her broken ribs, she will be unable to work for up to four months, creating a significant financial burden.
We, as her community, are asking for your support. Any contribution, big or small, will help Melissa cover her medical bills and living expenses during her recovery. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign to help spread the word.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity in helping Melissa through this incredibly difficult time.
