Help Support Melissa's Mom on hospice

My name is Melissa. I’m one of five siblings and I’m trying to help my mom.

Today she had her right leg amputated above the knee. This was her only chance of survival as a diabetic with heart issues and several femoral artery blockages in her legs. Her foot went into gangrene.

My mom left home at 16 and became a mother at 19 years old. She birthed and raised 5 kids alone, while her husband worked overseas to provide for us. My mom never entered the workforce and has a 9th-grade education, but she was the most efficient housewife I ever met.

Medicaid dropped my mom due to her age, and because she never entered the workforce, she does not have the work credits required to qualify for Medicare. Her husband has been disabled for years, and she has no medical insurance to cover the medical bills. She has had three surgeries in the last week since the ambulance took her away. She needs physical therapy and nurse care once she is discharged and can’t even afford her medications. I am praying for any help right now, even if it is supplies donated for post-amputation care.
