Melissa Ortiz Licon is my mom, and she has always been there for everyone who needs help. Whether it’s donating her time, showing up to people’s events, or being there when someone needs support, Melissa has been the pillar of strength for our family and community. Even through her own losses—her sisters, brother, and husband—she has remained the loving, carefree, strong, and willing mom, Tia, wella, and sister we all cherish.
In 2018, Melissa was diagnosed with non alcohol liver cirrhosis. Since then, she has bravely battled her health, facing many ups and downs. Over the past year, her condition has worsened, and she has been in and out of the hospital. Recently, we received a blessing: Melissa got the call that a new liver is available for her. While this brings hope, it also means she will need to stay in Dallas for six weeks to recover and won’t be able to work during that time. She still needs help paying her bills and taking care of her house while she focuses on healing.
We are asking for your support to help Melissa through this challenging time. Any help is appreciated, and we thank you for all your support and love. Your generosity will make a real difference in her recovery and help her get back to being the incredible person she is.
