Description: On January 27, 2026, my daughter Melissa was a passenger in a car that ran a red light and was side-swiped. The accident changed everything in an instant. Melissa was rushed to the trauma center in Seattle, where she was placed on a ventilator and faced a long list of severe injuries: her pelvic bone was broken in half, her right leg required reconstruction, she suffered a skull fracture, three broken ribs, and a hematoma. The first few days were terrifying, but Melissa’s strength and determination have been incredible.
After four weeks in the hospital, Melissa was moved to a Skilled Nursing Facility in Seattle. She will stay there until her pelvic bone heals enough for her to put weight on her legs and begin the long process of learning to walk again. The road ahead is challenging, and her recovery is expected to take 9-12 months or more. During this time, she will need ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and support as she works toward regaining her independence.
We are raising funds to help cover Melissa’s medical bills, rehabilitation, travel, and monthly expenses while she recovers. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and continues to stand by our side. We are hopeful that this journey will lead to full healing, both physically and mentally, as Melissa finds a new path forward. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us, and we feel truly blessed for all the emotional support we have received.
