Melissa has been courageously living with stage 4 breast cancer since March 2019. Over the years, she has faced each recurrence with incredible strength and determination, always finding a way to keep moving forward. In late April, Melissa was hospitalized after experiencing severe headaches and vomiting. A CT scan revealed that the cancer had spread to her brain. She underwent surgery to have a shunt implanted to control swelling, followed by five radiation treatments. After 2.5 weeks in the hospital, Melissa returned home to our apartment, where she began a new round of therapies, including targeted treatments and oral chemotherapy. Each day, she is regaining strength—walking without a cane, driving again, and even taking the stairs in our building. Friends have stepped in to help with meals, and her appetite is returning, which has been a bright spot in this difficult time.

Melissa is deeply passionate about her work as an acupuncturist and reiki master, and cares deeply for her clients. She is also a devoted cat mum, sharing a special bond with our soul cat, Lg. Nature brings her peace, whether she’s on the beach in Michigan or walking through the woods. Right now, my focus is on giving Melissa the space to heal without the added stress of financial worries. The funds raised will help cover medical bills, therapy, living expenses, and alternative healing options, allowing Melissa to rest and focus on her recovery.
