Support Melissa's Funeral and Memorial

Hello,

My name is Maverick. I am Melissa’s only child. My mother suffered a severe stroke last Friday. She has spent the last week in intensive care until today, when I had to make the difficult decision to remove my mother from the ventilator and shift to comfort measures only.

With this being said, I am now preparing for her funeral and celebration of life. She was fighting for disability and she was so close to getting it finally after 4 years of consistent tries and every time being denied. My mother suffered her first stroke in 2019 and lost mobility in her left arm, and it caused damage to her brain that controlled her emotional state. I stood by her side and did my best to help her when I was able, but the last four years have been tougher for her than anything else. It took four years for her to come to terms with not being able to work. Now her time has come to gain her wings and be at peace.

At this time, she had no life insurance nor any money. I have been off work this whole week and my wife has also missed two days of work due to being by my side during this tragic time. I am on FMLA, but that is only half my normal wages. I hate asking for help, but anything anyone could or would be able to donate to help me lay my mother to rest would be greatly appreciated. As we all know, burying a parent is never easy, but when it is sudden, it’s harder than ever because now, as the child, you have to finish everything.
