Melissa Broadway, also known as Missy, sister, friend, Momma, or her personal favorite, Mimi. Pouring every bit of herself into the people she loves. You've truly never met a more selfless person.

In April, our family received news that completely broke us. Mom, Melissa, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Even typing the words still brings a sickening feeling to my stomach. She was immediately sent to MD Anderson where she was introduced to her MM team, and they began testing. Every single day it seemed to be more and more wrecking news. After weeks of waiting, we were given a plan. This diagnosis isn't curable, but it's treatable! They made it clear that it would be a fight, but a fight that we were gearing up to FIGHT! Treatment started immediately—radiation on what we could, chemo weekly in Houston for all of the other places that couldn't be hit with radiation, and then to begin a Stem Cell Transplant.

You can imagine, this news put a complete halt to our lives as we know it. My Dad, Mick, needing to stay right with Mom during this time, has put a complete stop to any income, while travel to Houston and current medical expenses are continuing to put a strain on her during this time.
