Please help Melissa with her cancer journey!

For months Melissa has experienced severe back pain. She relentlessly tried every option and met with doctors multiple times, she was told in was probably a strained muscle or due to an out of place rib.

A few weeks ago, she woke up to the loss of sensation in her legs. Still being able to move but not able to feel her legs, she was rushed to the ER.

It was there after extensive imaging that they found a tumor putting pressure on her spine. After monitoring the tumor for a few days, they decided to do an emergency surgery after fear of her becoming paralyzed escalated.

They were successful in removing what they could but noted that they still have concerns about it reaching towards her lungs, as they were not able to get everything.

Melissa recently received the diagnosis of Ewing Sarcoma (Bone Cancer).

Melissa has had to deal with so many fast changes in just a few days:

•not being able to walk/ the fear of paralysis

•processing her diagnosis

•the pain from an invasive surgery

•being told cancer will make her infertile

•trying to figure out insurance to freeze her eggs

•trying to relearn how to walk

• and knowing she has a grueling 8 months of chemo

Nevertheless, Melissa remains in high spirits. She truly has been so optimistic and is ready to fight. If anyone knows Melissa, she is extremely determined and has made up her mind that this is just a hurdle and is making plans to travel next year.

We are asking for donations to ease the uncertainty of insurance, especially with the egg retrieval. It’s truly not something we want her to worry about as we need all of her positive energy focused on beating cancer.
