Melissa Keller is a devoted single mom of three school-aged children, and a friend I met through my own battle with breast cancer. Recently, Melissa received the difficult news that she, too, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has already begun her treatments, but the journey has not been easy. After a reaction to her last treatment, Melissa and her doctors are working to find the best path forward.

Because of her diagnosis and the side effects of treatment, Melissa is unable to work until at least March of next year. This sudden loss of income has created a heavy burden for her and her family. As someone who has always worked hard to provide for her children, it is incredibly difficult for Melissa to face these challenges while also focusing on her health.
