Yesterday my aunt, Melissa Swaim, was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she will remain hospitalized indefinitely as she awaits a life-saving heart transplant.

Following her surgery, Melissa will be required to stay within 50 miles of the hospital for an additional 6–8 weeks to ensure proper recovery and monitoring. This means weeks away from home, with the added burden of housing, food, and transportation costs on top of the substantial medical expenses.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial stress on Melissa and her family so they can focus entirely on her recovery.
