Life has taken an unexpected turn for us both. As people may know, Mike was diagnosed with a vestibular schwannoma within his hearing nerve that connects the ear to the brain. The tumor has caused serious health challenges, and eventually, he lost his job of 14 years over it on Oct 31, 2024. Because surgery is too risky, he’s had stereotactic radiosurgery done in hopes of killing and controlling the tumor's growth.

Just as Mike was finishing his treatment, I went for what I thought would be a routine mammogram and on Oct 16, 2025, was devastated to learn that I have invasive lobular carcinoma breast cancer. I’ll need to undergo double mastectomy surgery on November 4th and will be out of work while I recover.

With both of us unable to work full-time, we’re struggling to keep up with our medical and regular bills. We’re doing everything we can to stay strong, but the medical costs and lost income have made it incredibly difficult.

This is literally the hardest thing we’ve ever had to do, ask for help, so we’re turning to our family, friends, and community for support during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us stay afloat and cover essential expenses.
