Hi. My name is John and I created this GoFundMe for Melissa Mallon, my son's mother and someone who is like a sister to me.

Many of you know that Melissa has been dealing with some major health issues for some time but they pale in comparison to the battle she's facing now.

Melissa was recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation which is a rare structural defect where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. This occurs when the skull is too small or misshapen, causing the cerebellum (the part of the brain that controls balance) to be pushed downward through the foramen magnum (the opening at the base of the skull). This requires an immediate high risk surgery which she will be having on August 4th, 2025.

Because of that surgery, Melissa will not be able to work for several months and the purpose of this campaign is to raise money for her monthly expenses. She's a very hard working Mom of 3 who has always made ends meet without the help on anyone through her impeccable work ethic. She has enough on her plate facing this surgery and recovery that the last thing we (her family and friends) want is for her to worry about getting evicted or not being able to provide for her children, 2 of whom live with her.

All donations will go directly to Melissa and will be used for the aforementioned purposes. Melissa is the first one to be there for her loved ones so let's show her how loved and appreciated she is by relinquishing this stress from her.

Melissa has full control and access to this campaign. I just set it up because no one is more deserving of some help in a time of need.
