Support Melissa Kanester's Journey

Hello, my name is Adrienne and my dear friend Melissa Kanester could really use some help right now. We're longtime friends and she has always been strong, independent, and fearless. She's a talented makeup artist, hairstylist, musician, loving sister, daughter, friend and most of all a devoted mother to her 9-year-old son Blue.

Melissa was recently diagnosed with stage 2b cervical cancer and is starting concurrent rounds of radiation, chemotherapy and immunotherapy. She's been working extra hard, through fatigue and physical pain to get all of her clients hair cuts in before she starts her treatments this week. Chemotherapy will be 6 hours a week for 5 weeks, radiation will be a total of 7 weeks and immunotherapy will be every 3 weeks for 18 months.

Although Melissa has medical insurance, all money donated will be used to help Melissa and her son Blue out with everyday bills, food, and the occasional hotel to stay in that's close and comfortable to Hoag hospital. It will also help with getting some long term parking for her RV that they are currently living in. Working will be difficult during these first few months for her. If we can help them get financial support and security, she can focus on healing and resting.
