Donation protected
On Saturday 25th April, Mel was admitted to the hospital after complaining of having an excruciating headache. After being admitted Mel suffered a seizure which was very alarming, after doing a few test the results showed she was bleeding in her brain due to a ruptured blood vessel "aka brain aneurysm".
Doctors advise immediate surgery was required.
Knowing the severity of Mel's condition the surgery was done on Sunday 26th at 10 am, this was the longest 4 hours of our lives. However, during the correction of this aneurysm, doctors observed that a second one was present. Though not ruptured, they advised that this also requires treatment. Mel is currently in recovery from the first operation, awaiting the second surgery which is schedule for Tuesday 5th May.
Melissa is an amazing person with a heart of gold a loving wife, mother,friend, sister and daughter. Those who know her personally knows that she is a fighter in every sense. This is not Melissa's first battle and we know that with God she will continue to overcome and she will claim victory.
Given the urgency, Mel's surgery was done privately, with associated but unexpected expenses.
Accordingly, the family is kindly requesting financial donations to offset the cost required to preform two endovascular repairs (surgery) the method being used to treat the aneurysms. The funds will also aid in any post release treatment/care that she may need.
There is no minimum amount. We gracefully and gratefully accept any contribution you can offer. We are asking that donations be made by Saturday 9th May. For those who are able to help financially, may your blessings be reciprocated tenfold.
