Support Melissa Bentley's Journey to a Cure

Hi! I'm Melissa Bentley, and I was diagnosed with AML leukemia, a particularly deadly version of the disease, and given just weeks to live. I was sent home to get my affairs in order, but that was almost 16 years ago! I've blown them all away by living with AML longer than anyone else.

Recently, doctors at MD Anderson hospital reached out to me and asked me to come out to Houston for tests. They are doing groundbreaking things in the area of AML research, and they've told me that there's a possibility that my body could hold the key to a cure! Imagine that!!!

I am going to be traveling to Houston, Texas, in the next few weeks for a period of testing, and most likely, I will need to return regularly.

I live alone and on a fixed income so I don't have extra money available for living expenses and travel expenses at MD Anderson Hospital. My insurance does not cover any of these expenses.

My friends have set up the GoFundMe page in an effort to keep me from having to go into deep debt while trying to cross the country in the hopes that many other lives might be saved!
