Update…Melissa and boys are hoping to find housing soon. Please help us reach their goal which will be used for rent and security deposit! Thank you!
Unfortunately, my cousin Melissa Lofgren and two of her sons are currently homeless due to a house fire on March 27th in Oshkosh, WI. Thankfully, with the help of the American Red Cross, they have been able to stay in a local hotel for a few days.
As of this week, they are in dire need of housing and are looking for a 3-bedroom place to rent. However, Melissa doesn't have the finances available to even begin looking for a place (first month's rent, security deposit, plus replacing their personal items that are needed).
Melissa is disabled, currently in a wheelchair with health issues not allowing her to climb stairs or do any type of work. Her 2 boys, ages 10 and 16, lost everything. Much of her belongings were lost due to smoke and water damage. Any amount of help would be greatly appreciated as they begin their journey in the weeks ahead.
If you would like to donate directly to Melissa, I can help make that connection! Thank you so much!
UPDATE … they have been blessed with plenty of clothing for all of them, a TV, Blu-ray player…
Comfort Suites of Oshkosh has been remarkable … they are working with Melissa to allow them to stay another week which will give her more time to make living arrangements.
