Support Melissa After Tragic Loss of Her Son

Hello, my name is Kim Williams, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend, Melissa Schmidt. I’m doing this to support her during an unimaginably difficult time.

As many of you may know, Melissa recently lost her beloved son, Colby Young, to a senseless act of gun violence. He was taken far too soon. No mother should ever have to endure the pain of losing a child.

Colby faced many challenges in life, including a long and difficult battle with addiction. Despite these struggles, he was a young man full of kindness, love, humor, and talent. His loss has left a deep void in the hearts of many, especially his mother, Melissa. The grief she is experiencing is beyond words.

Right now, Melissa is struggling to manage the day-to-day responsibilities of life while navigating this overwhelming loss. She is unable to work and is in need of support to cover basic living expenses as she takes time to grieve and begin the healing process.

The impact that Melissa has made on her community speaks volumes about the kind of person she is—kind, compassionate, and endlessly giving. Let’s show her the same kindness in return.
