Loren and Melinda Yoder have been having some health struggles.
In 2024, Melinda started to experience muscle weakness, anxiety, heart palpitations, and fatigue. She went to a doctor, who referred her to a cardiologist, and neither could find the problem.
In the fall of 2024, they moved, and the stress of moving made her symptoms grow worse. Melinda visited a walk-in clinic, a family doctor, and another cardiologist with still no success. One day, her symptoms got so bad that she could not stay standing; her heart was pounding, so she called the ambulance. In the ER, they still couldn't identify the problem.
Then Loren discovered that his blood pressure was high; he got back on meds and tried to improve his diet but did not get improvement. One evening, it read dangerously high, so he went to a walk-in clinic and got an ambulance ride to the ER. He has since found a medication that works and is making lifestyle changes.
In early 2025, Melinda visited a wellness center where she was diagnosed with Lyme disease that causes Dysautonomia, which is responsible for most of her symptoms. The clinic believes they can help her but estimates costs could reach $20,000.
Because they have a high-deductible health share plan, they have paid all their medical expenses out of pocket, which has drained their savings. The health share won't cover costs from the wellness center either. Any contributions you can make will help pay for Melinda's treatment.
If you want to share with them offline you can mail checks directly to House of Bethany 124 Forrest Ridge Rd, Hohenwald, TN 38462 then indicate if you want a tax deductible receipt.
Thank you!
