Hello everyone, my name is Melia Bessaria. I'm an Indonesian student, a wife, and a mother of two beautiful children.
Now, I am one step away from getting my nursing degree as I'm in the second quarter of the Accelerated Career Entry (ACE) BSN Program at Drexel University in Philadelphia.
I’m fundraising because as an international student, I’m not eligible for federal loans or grants. I work two campus jobs, maintain a 4.0 GPA, and care for my family — but the cost of this accelerated program has become more than I can cover on my own.
Before I moved to Philadelphia to continue my education journey, I volunteered at Pregnancy Crisis Center in Indonesia, taking care of abandoned babies with their daily routine. In Los Angeles, I volunteered at USC Hospital, was assigned to the Nursing Department to help patients with their needs (water, towel, etc). I also volunteered at ZOE Church LA as a part of the welcome team and host team.
Now, in Philadelphia, besides attending school and taking care of my family, I also set aside my time to volunteer at church as a First Aid Team and play guitar.
Your support — even $1 — truly helps.
It goes directly toward my tuition, books, clinical supplies, and childcare so I can finish strong and serve others as a nurse.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, or donating. Your kindness means more than you know. ❤️
“I do the best that I can do to equip myself so I'll be capable to serve my community with my knowledge and passion."
