Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Supporters,

My name is Meleny, and I’m writing this letter with a heart full of hope and vulnerability. My husband and I have been together for 12 years, married for almost 9 beautiful years, and for the last 6 of them, we’ve carried a dream together—one that has brought us both deep love and, at times, deep heartache. That dream is to become parents.

Starting a family is something we have longed for more than words can truly express. We imagined what our home would sound like with little footsteps and laughter, how holidays would feel with a child to share them with, and how it would be to look into the eyes of a little one that carries a piece of each of us. But year after year, that dream has remained just out of reach.

I have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder that makes it incredibly difficult to conceive naturally. We’ve tried so many routes—diet changes, medications, countless doctor visits—and still, the result has been heartbreak after heartbreak. My husband, a proud Navy veteran, has stood beside me through every test, every hopeful moment, and every disappointment. Together, we’ve held onto faith even when the road felt impossible.

After long discussions with our doctors, we’ve been told that IVF (in vitro fertilization) gives us the best chance to finally hold a baby of our own. But the cost is overwhelming, and it’s not something insurance will cover. The emotional toll has already been great—and now the financial burden is something we can’t shoulder alone.

That’s why, with humility and hope, we’re reaching out for help.

Querida familia, amigos y personas de buen corazón,

Mi nombre es Meleny y escribo esta carta con el corazón lleno de esperanza y también con mucha vulnerabilidad. Mi esposo y yo llevamos 12 hermosos años juntos y casi 9 de casados, y durante los últimos 6 años hemos compartido un mismo sueño: formar una familia.

Es un deseo que llevamos en el alma, un anhelo profundo que con el tiempo ha crecido, junto con nuestras lágrimas, nuestras oraciones, y nuestro amor. Hemos soñado con el día en que escuchemos los pasitos de un niño en casa, con celebrar las fiestas rodeados de risas infantiles, y con ver en los ojos de un bebé una mezcla perfecta de nosotros dos.

Pero ese sueño ha sido difícil de alcanzar.

Fui diagnosticada con síndrome de ovario poliquístico (SOP), una condición hormonal que complica mucho la posibilidad de quedar embarazada naturalmente. Hemos intentado muchos tratamientos, cambios en el estilo de vida, medicamentos, visitas médicas… y aún así, el resultado ha sido siempre el mismo: más dolor, más esperanza rota.

Mi esposo, un veterano orgulloso de la Marina de los Estados Unidos, ha estado a mi lado en cada paso. Hemos luchado juntos, con fe y amor, pero también con miedo de que ese sueño nunca se cumpla.

Después de muchas consultas médicas, nos han dicho que la fertilización in vitro (FIV) es nuestra mejor opción para tener un bebé. Sin embargo, el costo es muy alto, y lamentablemente el seguro médico no lo cubre. A todo lo que ya hemos vivido emocionalmente, se suma una carga financiera que no podemos enfrentar solos.

Por eso, con humildad y esperanza, hoy pedimos ayuda.
