Support MeleA's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Hi, my name is MeleA! I’m a small business owner recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer. With a surgical procedure and chemo in my future, my biggest fear is how I’ll support my family while I’m in recovery. I know I’m not the only person out there battling this horrific disease, I know I won’t be the last, but the stress of dealing with this news on top of how we will survive is beyond overwhelming. I’ve been a hairstylist for over 25 years. It’s my absolute passion. Just after Covid, I decided it was time to branch out on my own and take nothing for granted! I have my own suite with an AMAZING clientele that has followed me and supported me the entire way.

On July 3rd, 2024, after a series of Mammograms and Biopsies, I learned that I had Breast Cancer and tested positive for the BRCA1 gene. If that wasn’t devastating enough, my only thought was my business. How do I pay for my bills and treatment and time off when I’m in the business of if you don’t work, you don’t eat. While my husband has a great job and health benefits, his income only scratches the surface of our expenses. While I am couponing, and thrifting and looking at ways to cut extra expenses, I’m afraid it’s not enough.

So here I am asking for a little help so I can focus on my recovery until I’m back in business. I mean, if a guy can raise funds to make a bologna sandwich, what do I have to lose.

All donations will go towards the bills that I can’t pay while recovering . Often when you’re a small business owner if you don’t work there’s no backup income. When the work stops so does the income. It will be a huge relief to know that with your support I’ll be able to pay for utilities , groceries, and unforeseen medical needs.
