Support Melanie's Second Battle with Cancer

Hello friends! If you know me, chances are you've met my mom, Melanie. She is my biggest cheerleader and the strongest person I know. What you may not know about her, if you have recently met me, is that a few years ago she was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. This was a big hit to our family, especially coming so soon after COVID and me leaving home to move to New York City for college. Like every obstacle she has faced, she conquered it like a tank because she is truly unshakable despite how much she likes to complain about the little things.

Unfortunately, this holiday season, we found out that the cancer had returned, still ovarian, but this time spreading into her lungs. So, in the coming weeks, my mom will be going in for her second round of chemotherapy. Because of this, she will be out of work and will, of course, need some extra support since we all need a little extra support sometimes.

As someone who doesn’t like to ask for help, I would personally never make something like this. However, it isn’t for me; it’s for her, and I will always put my pride aside for the people I love most.

So if you have it, I am asking that you show my mom the same love and support she has shown me. The same love and support she has spread to every person who has met her, whether it be in passing or while watching me at drag wars, making friends with every drag queen she came into contact with.

Of course, it's going to be tough, but she will get through it as she always has. Much love always ❤️
