Hi, my name is Jessica Perez. I am raising money for my best friend Melanie, who recently got detained by ICE on June 4th outside of her apartment complex. I am helping her single mom, who is still raising her little brother, raise money for an attorney. Her family lives a ways apart from where the detention center is, making me the closest "family" member to Melanie.

We are trying our best with what we already have, but we still have a long way to go expenses-wise. I, Jessica, consider Melanie as my sister, my best friend, my soul tie. She is the closest person I have in this world. She is all I have; she also has been here in the States since she was 2 years old (she's about to be 22 in 2 weeks) and has nothing in Mexico.
