Our dear friend and valued community member, Melanie Guiang, and her five children recently experienced a devastating house fire that has turned their lives upside down. On February 12th, they lost their home, most of their belongings, and tragically, their beloved family dog. We are incredibly grateful that Melanie and the children are safe, and for the swift response of emergency services and community members who have already stepped in to help.
Starting over after such a loss is overwhelming. Many of us know Melanie as a pillar of our school community—always volunteering, supporting events, driving kids in her big van on field trips, and making sure every child feels safe and included while she chaperones. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
As a single mother of five, the financial and emotional impact is immense. The family needs help replacing essential items like clothing, beds, furniture, and school supplies. Most urgently, they need support securing safe, stable housing at an affordable cost in today’s challenging housing market.
Funds raised will go toward temporary housing, a security deposit and rent, essential household items, school supplies, and other unexpected expenses during this transition.
Any contribution—big or small—will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Together, we can help this family rebuild, regain stability, and begin healing.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
