Dear Community,

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts as we share the news that our dedicated Indian Mound Middle School librarian, Melanie Neal, has been diagnosed with bile duct cancer. Mrs. Neal has fostered a love for reading and learning in many McFarland School District students and staff.

Now, Melanie faces the rollercoaster challenges of cancer treatment, and we are rallying together to support her. It is crucial that Melanie takes the time she needs for treatment and recovery and unfortunately, this means an unpaid leave of absence. Melanie's husband, Jay, has also been grappling with injuries that have prevented him from working.

We are launching a GoFundMe campaign to ease the financial burden on Melanie and Jay so they can focus on her health without the added worry of financial stress. Your contributions will help cover medical and daily living costs and allow her to take the necessary time.

Every donation helps and will make a meaningful impact for the Neals. Let's unite as a community to support our beloved librarian, showing her the same love and care she has always shared with us.
