Hello my name is Laney. Im reaching out in hopes that you guys would be able to help. My sister had a baby girl April 8th2026. When in utero my sister was told that the baby Meilani had a whole in her heart and diaphragm. As well as all of her organs being crammed in the right side of her chest. With everything being smooshed in her chest it didn't allow her heart to develop correctly or her lungs to develop all the way. They're developed at 22% . When she was born they had to place her on ECMO which does the work for her to help the lungs and heart heal without working. As a little time went by they discovered she has blood clots in her lungs. They originally started with one procedure to remove the blood clots but upon doing that they discovered she had way too much to get out at once. So they'll continue to go in until its cleared.

She recently coded, going 9 minutes without Oxygen to her brain. They were able to bring her back, but after doing so, they told us she was positive for sepsis.

Meilani has had to have surgery and multiple procedures.

She is on maximum life support. They're unsure of her future but we believe God has bigger plans for her.

We're reaching out to the community and hoping that you'd find it in your hearts to donate whatever you can. My sister hasn't been working due to the pregnancy being high risk because of her own health issues and the babies. This has all been very hard on all of us and I'd just love to be able to lighten the load for her any way possible.

With everything the doctors are saying anything can change day by day. They're hoping she makes it out as are we. Their main concern is getting rid of the sepsis. Once they've done that they'll try to see what her body can take or if she'd tolerate slowly taking the machines off. Theyre suspecting that because her brain went without oxygen for so long she'd have damage to her brain. & with that we dont know what her future holds we just know its going to be a LOONG road.
