Dear Family, Friends and Community Members,

Tony Brown is retiring as the Mehlville High School Director of Bands, where he has taught since 1993.

To honor and celebrate Mr. Brown's decades of service and vision, we have commissioned a new Band piece by Andrew Boysen, Jr, which he has titled, ¨Grit and Grace¨.

Your contribution towards the commission piece is a wonderful way to commemorate the music and memories of Mr. Brown's time at Mehlville High School. Hopefully, Bands around the world will be playing "Grit and Grace" for years to come and will feel the energy and magic of the Mehlville Band Program.

Mr. Brown has requested that any amount raised above and beyond Mr. Boysen's commission fee will be donated to the Mehlville Honor Band Private Lesson Program.

The Mehlville High School Symphonic Band will be premiering ¨Grit and Grace¨ at their Senior Farewell Concert on May 15th.
