Help Meg Heal From Near Fatal Injuries- Hit By Drunk Driver

Donation protected

A drunk driver hit me out of nowhere on June 5th, luckily surviving near-fatal injuries. My seatbelt stopped me from flying out the windshield, though my head hit the windshield resulting in multiple head injuries. I underwent emergency surgery for extensive internal injuries and almost didn’t make it out alive. I am grateful to be alive; recovery will be slow.

I have been unable to work since May of last year after being diagnosed with chronic complex PTSD stemming from the workplace.
Unfortunately, I am unable to continue the career that I love, after 21 years of advocating for youth in foster care.

  • The collision on June 5 has left me and my son in an even greater level of need.
  • Donations will go toward medical and daily care costs, services, & and needs ~ Hospitalization & surgery costs, medical services & needs, including physical & occupational therapy, trauma treatment, and daily home services to assist with daily tasks and general care I am unable to do at this time due to physical & cognitive limitations while recovering from surgery of & from the substantial internal injuries. Recovery will be slow ; short & long term level of recovery is unknown. I am making progress with some days better than others. Donations will also aid in providing any additional daily living support & meals to help me & my son during this difficult time.

• Donating and sharing is greatly needed and humbly appreciated.

I am very grateful to be alive!
Thank you all! From friends and family to all the emergency service workers, EMT’s, Law Enforcement, and medical providers who have gone above and beyond so that I could miraculously be here.
• I almost didn’t survive.
• Before anyone came to my aid after the collision, I was trapped in my vehicle, trying to control massive bleeding from my head. The other driver watching through my open window, until a bystander and emergency services arrived. It was horrific, but I’m miraculously still alive.

Love to you all, sincerely, Meg
Funds will be used for medical recovery treatment and help with daily living needs
