Hello, I'm Shannon Brady Wilson. Meghan and I became instant best friends in high-school Freshman year when we both joined the golf team. We did everything together which included time with her real love; horses. We led an agressive and I might note, effective post-it-note campaign at her house to get her first horse Hobbes that left Patricia and Bill, her parents, shaking their heads with a smile.
Our mother's also became fast friends and my mother got cancer and Patricia was very supportive of my mom as she progressed quickly and passed a couple of years later. Quite tragically Meghan's mother, Patricia, also was diagnosed and passed from cancer just years later.
We became bonded in a way we never wanted to be.
I feel gutted to hear that Meghan's cancer has progressed and wanted with Meghan's permission to help set something up for people who love and care for Meghan as a way to support her.
I must note that this was an intro to a proposed gofundme 8 months ago.
Meghan was thankful but declined at the time even though she was in advanced stages and in constant pain, could not work, and in need of assistance to get to trials.
I'm heartbroken with a lump in my throat the size of Manhattan and unsuccessfully fighting back tears to tell you Meghan has entered hospice care and has reached out to me to accept my offer.
My first choice in best friends was the best. Everyone who knows Meghan understands this. The most loving; pragmatic, animal loving, salty-sweet, humble, versitile, highly intelligent, sarcastic, loyal, appreciative human you could ever meet.
Let's help her. The best person I know.
