Support Meghan's Fight Against Thyroid Cancer

2024 has been a crazy year for me and my family. My husband Trey got a new job opportunity that required us to relocate from Georgia to Utah in September.

In the beginning of November, Trey was on a work trip for a long weekend, and I decided to go back to see my family with our daughter Mayze. During that time, I kept having fainting spells and something just did not seem right.

I went to my doctor in town, and my heart rate was off the charts. They sent me straight to the ER. I ended up getting admitted to the hospital for a few days as they performed many tests to try and figure out what was going on. They got my heart rate under control and narrowed it down to either a thyroid or heart issue. I had an emergency appointment the next day with a specialist.

The thyroid specialist, from the images taken at the ER, was able to determine that I had multiple tumors on both sides of my thyroid. The doctor ended up taking a biopsy of the tumor to confirm that the tumors were indeed cancerous. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Thyroid Cancer. The next step was to schedule surgery to remove my thyroid and the cancerous tumors. Which brings us to where we are today. I will have this procedure on January 2nd, and the recovery process to follow is fairly strenuous.

Trey's work has been very understanding and has allowed him to work remotely during this time, so I am able to be around family to help me with my recovery and help us with taking care of our 2-year-old daughter Mayze.

All funds will go towards my medical bills associated with the surgery and the radiation treatments that will follow post-surgerically as I look to beat cancer. Anything you can give helps, and we appreciate your willingness to help during our time of need.
