For those of you who do not know, Meghan was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer 8 months ago on Christmas Eve. Not only is the cancer in her colon, but it has also spread to her liver, stomach lining, and spleen. There are also obstructions in her intestines. Meghan has undergone surgeries to remove the obstructions, but so far have been unsuccessful. Without going into too much detail, Meghan’s team of doctors had to make some critical decisions while operating to save her life. Unfortunately, this has left Meghan with life altering changes to her body to help aid in her recovery. Meghan is fighting the hardest battle of her life, not only for herself, but for her two young children ages 8 and 11.

Meghan is unable to work and no longer has any income. Meghan’s savings are depleting rapidly, while her medical bills and everyday expenses continue to pile up. On top of that, she must cover the high cost of her family’s health insurance each month. Meghan’s greatest wish is to keep life as stable as possible for her two children; making sure they can continue the activities they love and have some sense of normalcy during this difficult time.

Meghan always has a good attitude and a positive outlook on life. The road ahead is long but as Meghan says, “This is a marathon not a race.” It takes a village, and they need us now more than ever.
