UPDATE:
Meghan underwent a successful mastectomy on December 9.
Original post:
I've known Meghan since sixth grade. Together, we've created countless memories—lots of singing together, carpooling to high school, talking about our crushes, performing in school musicals, and the list goes on. Meghan was a big part of my life during my teenage years; I can’t think about those times without her. Although our lives have taken us in different directions since those years, we've managed to stay connected, thanks to Facebook.
In September, Meghan was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer. The diagnosis is invasive but localized. On December 9, she will undergo surgery to remove lymph nodes and tissue, which will guide the next steps in her treatment.
Meghan is one of the strongest women I know. She has faced unimaginable challenges, including the loss of both of her parents. Her sweet mama, Sharon died of breast cancer a few years ago.
As a single mom to five amazing kids, Meghan works tirelessly to provide for her family. After her surgery, she’ll need to take a couple of months off work to recover.
Meghan is a fighter, and I know she will give her all to overcome this. But now, more than ever, she needs our support. Let’s come together to ease the burden of general living expenses, including medical costs for Meghan’s surgery and treatment, so Meghan can focus on her health and her family without the added stress of financial worries.
Please join me in supporting Meghan and her kids during this critical time. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.
