Support Meghan Bessette's Cancer Battle

LET'S HELP MEGHAN FIGHT CANCER!

In September of 2024, Meghan Bessette (Miss B) was diagnosed with having two separate forms of breast cancer. Luckily, she found it early, but the cancer was deemed to be at stage 3 as it was discovered to have spread to her lymph nodes.

Meghan has been working as a Special Needs Para Educator at Normandin Middle School in New Bedford, MA for 11 years and is beloved by her students, their parents and the entire faculty and staff at Normandin.

What most people do not know is that Para Educators are paid hourly, do not receive a paycheck during the summer and have very limited sick time. Once their sick time is exhausted, Para Educators must take time off unpaid.

Because hospital and chemotherapy appointments can be extensive and take weeks or months, Meghan will have to complete her medical treatments without an income. I feel that the stress of that financial burden would be detrimental to her focusing on getting well.

For those of us who are fortunate to know Meghan, know her to be one of the kindest, most genuine, loyal, hardworking, and dedicated people that they have ever met.

Meghan always goes above and beyond to help her friends, family, colleagues and her beloved students. She has shown up every single day to genuinely care for the needs of everyone.
