Support Meghan and Baby After Fire Loss
Donation protected
My dear friend Meghan and her family have been displaced by the devastating Eaton fire that impacted Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre. Meghan and I became mothers within a month of each other, and helped each other a lot through our postpartum journeys. She’s faced significant challenges in her first year as a mom. Now, just before her daughter's first birthday, they face the unimaginable loss and disruption caused by this horrific fire. I'm hoping our community can rally around them during this incredibly difficult time.
On January 7th, their home began filling with smoke, forcing them to evacuate with their 11-month-old daughter, two dogs, and cat. While their house remains standing, it's only seven blocks south of the burn zone, and after professional inspection their home is declared uninhabitable due to toxic soot, char, and ash. They left with only what they could quickly gather, and it's uncertain when, or even if, they'll be able to return. If they do, much of their belongings will likely be unsalvageable due to contamination.
Since the fire, they've been living out of bags, moving four times in this short period. They are now having to consider the overall health and safety of their family, especially their baby, and due to the toxic environment, they are facing relocating. They just want to be sure their baby is safe and happy. Meghan was also preparing to return to work after her maternity leave, but this devastating fire has made that impossible, adding another layer of financial and emotional stress to an already overwhelming situation.
Please consider helping this wonderful family recover their lives. Every contribution is appreciated.
