Support Megan's Surgery for Slipping Rib Syndrome

Hi everyone, my name is Christianne, and I am setting this up on behalf of my close friend, Megan. As some of you know, she has had two surgeries to repair her ribs, and she is now preparing to have a third surgery. Here is a bit of background and an explanation of how we can help.

Megan is preparing for yet another chest wall reconstruction surgery scheduled for February 5th in West Virginia. This surgery is essential for alleviating the intense daily pain caused by her slipping rib syndrome and L1 syndrome, a complex condition that has made all aspects of life challenging.

Because of the complexities of her case, this surgery must be performed by a specialized surgeon in West Virginia. Unfortunately, no other surgeon in the United States has the expertise required to handle such a wicked case.

In June of 2024, Megan underwent her second major surgery, including plating and reconstructing the entire costal margin bilaterally. That provided some relief but did not fully address the condition. Despite having insurance, they were left with a $7,000 out-of-pocket bill, which has been a substantial burden for them to manage.

The upcoming surgery involves the removal of Megan's 11th and 12th ribs, which is a beast of a surgery. Post-surgery, Megan will need to stay down south to be close to medical care and have time to heal before making the trip back home. This procedure is Megan's last hope to become fully able-bodied again, allowing her to return to all things life without the constant burden of pain.

The total cost of the upcoming surgery, the previous surgery cost, leave without pay, and travel costs are what these funds will be used for.
