Megan is a devoted single mom who has become a dear friend to our family. Our sons met at school and quickly bonded over their love of football, and through them, Megan and I have grown close as well. She’s always been a supportive presence in our community, and now she needs our help.
Last fall, while watching her son play football, Megan suddenly experienced pain and swelling in her right arm. Sensing something was seriously wrong, she went to the emergency room, where she was diagnosed with a dangerous blood clot near her collarbone. The doctors discovered she was suffering from effort thrombosis, also known as Paget-Schroetter syndrome—a rare condition caused by compression of the vein between the collarbone and first rib.
Megan was immediately placed on blood thinners and later underwent surgery to remove her first rib. She also had two procedures to remove the clot, but unfortunately, both were unsuccessful. The surgery and complications have left her unable to work for the time being, and the financial stress of mounting medical bills, ongoing treatment, and everyday living expenses has become overwhelming. As a single parent, being unable to work while healing has created a major financial gap during an already challenging time. Megan is also dealing with the constant stress of knowing that the clot is still there, making her recovery even more difficult.
We are raising funds to help Megan cover: • Medical bills and ongoing recovery costs • Lost income while she heals and cannot work • Basic living expenses for her and her son over the next few months. Megan is strong, hardworking, and not someone who ever asks for help — but right now she truly needs support as she focuses on healing and getting back on her feet. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world. Thank you so much for supporting Megan and her son.
