Megan is my best friend—practically my sister. She lives in Michigan with her husband and two teenage kids, and anyone who knows her will tell you she’s the most giving, supportive, and funny person you could meet. She’s always been there for others, and now she needs our help more than ever.
Recently, Megan experienced a medical emergency almost like a stroke and had to undergo major brain surgery called a suboccipital craniotomy to remove a cavernoma. While the surgery went well, she has faced serious complications that have set her recovery back. Megan has been in the ICU for a week, and doctors expect her to remain there for at least another week. She currently has a breathing tube and a feeding tube, and after her ICU stay, she’ll need at least two weeks of inpatient therapy. This medical emergency was completely unexpected and critical, turning her family’s world upside down.
Megan’s husband, Kyle, has been by her side every step of the way. They are working through FMLA paperwork with Megan’s job, but since she’s been there less than a year, she doesn’t have full benefits and is now on unpaid leave. The mounting hospital bills, combined with their regular expenses, are creating a heavy burden for their family. I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Megan and her family to help ease some of that stress. Any donation, no matter the amount, will be deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Your support and kindness mean the world to us. Thank you for helping Megan and her family during this difficult time.
