Help Megan Recover After Brain Surgery & Job Loss

Hi, my name is Megan.

Back in December, I was injured at work when I was hit in the head. Even though I wasn’t okay, I was sent back to work too soon, putting my health at further risk. After finally seeing a neurologist, I was taken off work in March for medical reasons. That’s when I found out I needed both neck and brain surgery.

I had the surgery on the 19th of May and I’m now home recovering. Just yesterday, while still healing, I was told I was being terminated through a text message.

I’m not receiving workers' comp or any support from insurance. Right now, I have no funds to my name! I’m not able to return to work yet, as my recovery is expected to take 6 to 12 weeks. If all goes well, I plan to find a new job and get back on my feet. But in the meantime, I need help.

I’m asking for support because I simply don’t have the funds to cover my basic needs: rent, bills, food, or transportation. This has been one of the hardest and most humbling experiences of my life, and I’m trying to stay strong.
