Hello! My name is Megan LaBelle-Smith, and I am a Soprano at Lawrence University studying Vocal Performance and Music Composition.

This summer, I have been cast as Fiordiligi in a production of Mozart's Così fan Tutte that will be fully staged in Novafeltria, Italy through the five-week intensive program "La Musica Lirica". This hilarious opera, following a bet of two men who disguise themselves and swap partners, is not just a fun experience, but a monumental musical opportunity for me as I step into the professional singing world.

With your support, I will have the chance to participate in nearly 100 hours of Italian language/diction classes, several master classes with professional singers, 10 lessons with singing experts, four performances of the opera, and new skills that I will never forget. I will improve my singing/acting technique as well as learn how to interact with other singers, directors, and conductors. These invaluable skills will open the doors for my dream of telling impactful stories on the operatic stage and making an impact on my community through art.

Upon my return to the states in August, I will send all who are able to financially support me whatever recordings I am legally allowed to send of my performances, along with an update on how the program has positively impacted my musical studies. Time and cost allowing, I also hope to put on a short recital in August as a thank you including the music I worked on during this program.
