Mission to Crete
$2,275 raised of $2.1K
Many of you know that I grew up overseas as a missionary kid. For much of my childhood, I lived between two worlds—never fully belonging to the country we were serving in, yet also not fitting the mold of a typical American upbringing. That sense of in-between was often isolating.
However, every four years, our mission agency hosted area retreats where missionary families gathered for a week of fellowship, rest, and renewal. Those retreats became sacred spaces for me. They were the rare times when I felt a true sense of belonging—surrounded by other missionary kids who understood the unique joys and challenges of growing up cross-culturally. We were free to laugh, connect, and simply be ourselves, and those weeks left a lasting impact on my life.
This year, that missions agency is hosting another area retreat in Crete, and I have felt the call to volunteer. It would be an honor to serve missionary families by caring for their children while parents are able to fellowship, be refreshed, and be encouraged. As a child, I remember watching the volunteers with admiration, hoping that one day I would have the opportunity to serve in the same way.
Missionary kids are often overlooked, yet they carry unique experiences and burdens at a young age. Being able to pour into them, to help them feel seen, valued, and deeply cared for, would be incredibly meaningful to me. I see this opportunity as a small but significant way to give back to a community that shaped me so profoundly.
I need to raise $3,000 for this trip happening in April. This covers travel, lodging, and meals. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and would help me reach my goal! Your prayers for all this to come together quickly are cherished. I'm so thankful for those who come alongside to support me; you are truly appreciated.
In Him,
Megan
