Support Megan's Legal Defense for NiuNiu Against NDLB & Jeff

My name is Megan Langevin, and I need your help.
I never imagined I would be facing a lawsuit for doing the right thing—helping a dog in need. Now, Jeffrey Beri and No Dogs Left Behind (NDLB) are suing me in what I believe is a clear attempt to intimidate and silence me. I’m fighting this legal battle alone, and I simply can’t afford it without financial help as I am a single mother raising two boys. But I must stand my ground for what is right, and rescuing NiuNiu and exposing the truth is paramount to me.
Why Am I Being Sued?
After a devastating fire at NDLB’s facility in Canton, NY, killed 43 rescued dogs, many former volunteers, employees, and dog adopters started asking questions. Concerns about financial mismanagement, improper medical care, and donor funds being used to support a lavish lifestyle instead of the animals surfaced. The more people spoke out, the more Beri tried to silence them through legal threats and lawsuits with harassing cease and desist letters and even direct intimidation by Jeff’s silent partner. (see my counter suit for name)
One of the dogs that survived the fire, NiuNiu, was legally owned by Together for Animals China (TAC). When TAC learned about the fire and the tragic loss of two of their other dogs, they reached out to trusted former volunteers—including me—to help ensure NiuNiu’s safety. With proper legal paperwork, I retrieved the dog and have been caring for her at TAC’s request.
That should have been the end of it.
But instead of accepting that NiuNiu’s legal owner had reclaimed her dog, Beri and NDLB filed a lawsuit against me, alleging grand conspiracy theories and orchestrated attacks on Beri. Everything in his lawsuit against me is false, and I intend to prove that in the open in a court of law.
This is his lawsuit against me: Jeff Beri and No Dog's Left Behinds Allegations
So, I am fighting back. I filed my answer with counterclaims, and Jeff was served over the weekend at the Montauk St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Here is a link to the filing and the evidence submitted: My Response and Counter Claim w/ Evidence
More evidence will be submitted shortly.
What This Lawsuit Means for Me
I am just one person. I don’t have millions of dollars or a team of lawyers at my disposal. But I refuse to be bullied into silence. This lawsuit is about more than just me—it’s about standing up to an organization that uses legal threats to suppress the truth. It is about protecting the animals in NDLB's care. It is time for the truth to come out once and for all.
Legal fees are mounting quickly, and I can’t fight this battle alone. I need your help to cover my legal defense so I can stand up for what’s right and protect myself and others against this baseless lawsuit.
