Hello,
My name is Megan, and recently my car's CVT in my 2016 Toyota Corolla has been needing to be replaced. My car is very unsafe to drive, and I currently have no transportation to get to work or to go anywhere. I have been fighting with Toyota to help me get my transmission fixed for the last 3 weeks. It started to act up late December 2024. My car is currently only at 87k miles. I have taken it to multiple transmission specialists, including 2 Toyota dealerships, and no one can tell me why my CVT (continuously variable transmission) is acting up. I've done research on this transmission, and both Honda and Toyota between the years 2015-2017 have defective CVTs. There are lawsuits and recalls out for them. I ran the VIN number, and I did have a recall. I took it to a dealership, and afterwards, they told me it did not fix my problem. I'm very upset with Toyota; they are refusing to accept any accountability for this defect. I need a car to drive and Toyota is making me pay 4k out of pocket for the fix. I am also raising awareness that these dealerships are not taking any responsibility or accountability for their faulty parts in these models of cars between the years 2015-2017.
