Support Megan's Fight Against Rare Cancer
Donation protected
Our dear friend Megan Hicks is once again facing a diagnosis of cancer. In late January, doctors found several tumors, including one on her remaining adrenal gland and another on her uterus. In addition, there are lesions of concern on her spine, as well as the possibility the cancer may involve her pituitary gland, as well. As Megan said, she is in shock but ready to fight, with tons of doctors’ appointments and symptoms that continue to impact her quality of life as a treatment plan is explored.
She has the loving support of her husband, Michael, and her daughter Izabella, but this family could use our support, too. Cancer reverberates in countless ways, and often wreaks havoc on finances. This means instead of focusing on health and treatment, families instead worry about how they are going to make their bills.
Cancer also takes a huge physical and mental toll. Megan doesn’t feel well, is often in pain, and is unable to work consistently. In addition, adrenal cancer is rare, and so Michael and Megan have decided to put their trust in the best of the best, at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. This will come with its own expenses, and Michael will need to be with Megan and unable to work himself temporarily.
Let’s help the Hickses navigate this next chapter with support and love, and, if you can, a monetary donation to help alleviate some of their financial worries. Even a gift of $5 helps.
If you can’t donate, that’s okay! Your love, well wishes, thoughts and prayers mean so much to Megan. If you could, pray that the Mayo Clinic gets them in quickly, and that they develop a comprehensive treatment plan that will get Megan “back to normal,” as she says, as soon as possible. Pray, too, for peace and comfort for the Hicks family as they once again navigate a complex cancer diagnosis.
And you can help by sharing this among your own friends and family, too.
We will provide updates on Megan’s journey as we can, and appreciate you taking the time to read this. On behalf of the Hicks family, thank you for your support and love.
