My daughter, Megan, is a junior in high school. This spring semester, her AP Environmental Sciences class is taking a field trip to study marine ecosystems and participate in field research in South Florida. They will snorkel in Earth's third-largest coral reef, explore the fragile Everglades National Park, and conduct coral reef species surveys with Seabase. She has loved taking this class and has developed a strong interest in the environment and how many factors impact it. As she looks at what she will study in college after graduation, I plan to encourage her to pursue what she enjoys and loves doing as a career path. She is excited about this field trip, and I would love to see her be able to go.
I'm her father, and I suffered a stroke in 2023 and lost my job shortly after. I was unemployed for over a year, so unfortunately, I can't afford to send her on this trip as much as I would love to; I haven't been able to find another job in my career field (IT), and the only job I found has barely been able to cover our basic needs, let alone other expenses. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it, and I know it would mean the world to Megan. Thank you for your consideration and kindness.
