Support Megan and Her Girls Live a Safe Life

Hi, my name is Megan. I am a single mother of two girls whom I have sole custody of. I am a domestic violence survivor who struggles with cPTSD, disassociation disorder, social anxiety and major depression all of which impede my daily life activities. I go into agoraphobia mode which sometimes lasts for weeks at a time. I will leave my house but only if absolutely needed. I live in constant fear that my abuser will in fact one day take my life. I don’t speak it about it much because I don’t want to feel like a burden. THIS IS MY LAST DITCH EFFORT.

I started Graceful Knit Knots as a means of recovery from alcoholism. I am proud to say that I have been sober for over 7 years now. I have put my entire heart and soul into my business; shifting the artistic direction many times. I gear my art to promote mental health awareness and to help people who are in need of resources and of course to hopefully sell the pieces.

Unfortunately, I have recently regressed in my own personal mental health journey and my only outlet is my art. I need to continue with my art to help myself and others. The materials have gotten costly, the venues where I am able to try to sell my art is costly, and the advertising to hopefully grow my dream is costly. All of these costs, I do not have to ability to pay for. To be honest I am not able to afford my rent or my car either but that’s another story.

Any help for me and my girls would literally be a dream coming true. We have nothing other than food stamps and rely on donations for clothing and family members have helped with basic needs.

If you could please help me and my daughters stay safe, away from my abuser, help me start my mental health art project; I would be so grateful. My biggest dream is to have my own brick and mortar centering around art therapy for everyone.
