Support Megan (Healy) Wolsey in Fighting the Fight

Donation protected

What started off as a stupid cough became a vicious fight. Back at the end of December 2019, Megan came down with what she thought was a cold that continued to get worse. Horrible coughing for months lead to a diagnosis of bronchitis, but it turned out to be a much bigger concern.  In March 2019 she had a chest x-ray.  Megan knew it was bad when the x-ray technician wouldn’t let her leave until she reached her PCP (Dr. De Jong...such an amazing doctor).

Lymphoma...really!? The same monster that took her mom, Pam! Megan knew this was life challenging her and she was not going to let this monster win again.

Diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin B-cell Lymphoma, Megan's tumor around her heart and lungs was inoperable.  This is when her fight began and continues to this day.  The next 6 months were spent getting Chemotherapy treatments with numerous trips to the hospital.  Keeping positive thoughts, the treatment was taking, but this monster wasn't going to go down easy.  At the end of the 6 months it hadn't gone away.

In the fall, Megan decided to put all her efforts into her health and she took a leave from work to focus on her healing.  Through this all the toughest part for her is not being able to have the social support in seeing others face to face due to the pandemic, but Megan continues to be strong and is one of the toughest women I know.

For the past few months, Megan has been receiving extremely intense Chemotherapy treatments where she has been hospitalized.  These treatments are exceedingly draining and have been an enormous test on Megan's physical, mental, and emotional strength.  Megan continues to persevere and will now be receiving several tests to see if she is ready for the next treatment process.

If all goes well she will have a Bone Marrow Transplant in February.  During this time, Megan and Jason will be living down at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for at least a month so that she can be monitored closely.  I ask that you help support Megan mentally, emotionally, and/or financially in your thoughts, prayers, or donations.  Your donations will go directly to Megan and Jason to help with gas, meals,  pet care, everyday living expenses,  time off work, and medical bills during this difficult time.  I would like to have the donations ready to go for them prior to their move down in February.  Please feel free to reach out to me if you want to send your positive thoughts and vibes to Megan.

Cancer may have started this fight, but Megan is making damn sure that she is going to end it and her mom will be watching over her to make sure she does.

Peace, love, and wellness to you all!
