To Our Friends, Family, and Community,
Megan and her family finally have answers after months of looking for help regarding a pain in her left hip. Megan had a normal spinal MRI and X-ray that resulted in no significant answers for her debilitating discomfort. She was prescribed steroids, was taking OTC pain medication, and was referred physical therapy to no avail. This caused her to go to the ER for some immediate help and a pelvic CT found a large tumor on her left pelvic bone and an additional smaller mass in her pelvic tissue. Further imaging showed that there is another large mass in her chest and metastases in the left side of her neck and in her right shoulder bone. There is potential spread to her brain / spinal fluid.
Megan has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. She will be receiving R-EPOCH treatment, a kind of chemotherapy to treat non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She will not be able to work fulltime during her treatment and will be admitted to the hospital for five days every three weeks and will be away from her family. We also know that insurance will not cover treatment in full.
While some of you may know how sweet and gentle Megan is, she also does whatever she sets her mind to and that is to be STRONGER THAN CANCER!
Please consider making a donation or spreading the word as we do what we can to support Megan, Jon, and Amya on this journey.
