With hearts heavy and spirits shaken, we remember someone who made the world brighter just by being in it—Megan Lane.
To try and capture Megan in words feels impossible. How do you put into sentences a spirit so full of light, kindness, and grace? How do you describe someone whose charm could disarm a room, whose compassion could ease a burden, and whose laughter felt like home?
Megan was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a confidant, a good person in the truest sense of the word. She had a way of seeing people, of knowing when someone needed help, and giving of herself without hesitation. She didn’t need to be asked; she just acted, with a heart so open and generous it left an imprint on everyone lucky enough to know her.
She was deeply loved especially by her mother, Julia. Their bond was something beautiful, sacred. No parent should have to experience the unimaginable pain of losing a child, and yet here we are, aching in ways words cannot soothe. Julia, your love shaped Megan into the extraordinary person she became. That love lives on in every memory, every story, every tear, and every smile when we think of her.
Megan and Molly grew up side by side sharing childhood memories, laughter, secrets, and dreams. Though life eventually led them down different paths and too much time passed between visits, the love they shared as sisters never faded.
That bond is forever.
Megan lived with intention and heart. She made people feel seen. She made people feel safe. She made people feel loved. And that, more than anything, is what we carry forward.
Today is not goodbye. It’s “see you later,” because love like Megan’s does not end. It echoes. It lingers. It moves through us in the quiet moments in laughter, in tears, in the ways we treat each other going forward. Megan wouldn’t want us to dwell in sorrow, but to honor her by living kindly, by helping others, and by loving well.
We will miss you, Megan. Every single day. But we will see you again. And until then, we’ll carry your light with us.
Rest easy, sweet soul.
Megan's sudden passing has left her family, especially her mother Julia, in unimaginable pain.
As they grieve this devastating loss, they are also faced with the financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses.
We are raising funds to help give Megan the farewell she deserves a service filled with love, dignity, and remembrance. All donations will go directly to covering the costs of her funeral and related expenses.
No amount is too small, and every contribution will make a difference. If you're not in a position to donate, we ask that you please share this campaign and keep Megan's family in your thoughts and prayers.
