Support Megan and Kids After Jay's Loss
Donation protected
Hi everyone - many of you have generously asked how to help my sister Megan during this incredibly difficult time. None of us could have imagined a world without Jay in it - and for her, her two kids, his four kids - their combined family - Jay was the foundation of that world.
His booming voice and laugh and larger than life presence in both spirit and size were both a reminder - but it was his quiet actions that made the biggest impact. His tenderness, at first mending what was her broken heart; and helping her kids to come to trust him and grow and heal themselves. His personal faith and reflections - often on the water, at sunsets, most at peace in nature. His steadiness, so she did not worry where he was. His constant work ethic - so that they were partners in life - fixing up their home, and how he contributed to the household income so that for the first time in a long time Meg felt a financial security. In total, he made Megan feel safe. A big brother couldn't ask for anything more.
Our family appreciates all of the outpouring of love and kindness already. Thank you. Because people have asked what would help most, at the moment, her biggest worry is financial.
Jay was a major contributor to the family owning his own two businesses. While Megan managed the one, it alone won't be enough, and at the moment, it is not clear if she will be able to continue that business. In general, there's a lot of uncertainty and that fear is atop the grief. Besides Megan's needs, Jay leaves behind three adult children and one minor daughter, and we are all trying to ensure we are collectively supporting one another however is needed.
If you are looking for a way to help the family, please consider a donation that gives Megan and Jay's children the flexibility to cover expenses as they arise in the coming months.
Thank you,
