My good friend and coworker, Megan Stuper, has been down on her luck the past couple of months. Megan is a single mother of two. One day at work, she cut off the tip of her thumb while working, which made it unsafe to work with food and put her out of a job for over a month, but she only received $500 in workman’s comp. After finally being approved to come back to work after living weeks without pay, tragedy struck. Megan’s kitchen caught fire while she was at the dentist for her daughter. Her dog had jumped up and turned on the oven, which caught fire to things resting on top. Fire marshals told her they will have to tear down her kitchen and dining room before she is allowed back in her Section 8 home. Now she has to couch surf with her two daughters until she finds a new place. The money from this fundraiser will go to supporting Megan and her family in this dire time.
